1st Race at Saratoga

1 5/8 mile Turf, $48,000 allowance, for three year olds and upward (state), more

Slow Signal (7) is consistently improving. Royal Rapids (3) has a strong closing kick and seems to be suited to the long route. Steve’s Thunder (6) posting some impressive figures is inconsistent; although dangerous. Drinkwater (9) should be powerful enough to hang on for the board.

7-3-6-9

Finish: 6-8-9-2

Win: 4.60

2nd Race at Saratoga

5 furlong dirt, $33,000 maiden claiming, for two year olds

Archer (5) took a bounce and could be back in good form. I wouldn’t bet against it considering Steve Asmussen’s record with his two year olds this meet. Teddy Hull (2) is well bred and workouts suggest he is in good form. Step To The Music (6) is well bred with good workouts. Contraband Of Gold (4) is well bred and trained.

5-2-6-4

Finish: 5-6-2-3

Win: 3.20

Double: 8.10

Exacta: 10.00

Trifecta: 25.80

3rd Race at Saratoga

1 1/8 mile dirt, $40,000 claiming, for fillies three years old

Pulling out from the one hole Theoneilove (1) should be able to get out and hold off Gonnabreakeven (2). Snitch (3) and Silver Sonic (5) will make the late bids for the board.

1-2-3-5

Finish: 3-1-5-6

Win: 10.60

Exacta: 50.50

Trifecta: 235.50

4th Race at Saratoga

5 furlong dirt, $45,000 maiden, for fillies two years old (state)

Tough Trojan (7) is a value at 15:1. She will be well managed by Chantal Southerland who is winning on maidens about one for three this meet. Willshefire (2) – that’s the question, isn’t it? Widely Acclaimed (4) trainer Richard Violette has had success with his first timers (2 for 3), Bailey is doing well on two year olds (spare the bloody nose), and she is well bred. Party Napkin (1) is well bred. Curtana (8) had a fair debut and could hit the board today.

7-2-4-8-1

Finish: 2-8-4-3

Win: 5.50

Exacta: 22.40

Trifecta: 69.50

5th Race at Saratoga

7 furlongs dirt, $28,000 claiming, for three year olds

Given the right trip Ultra Pop (5) could get a nose on Tip City (6). Americani (1) has good late speed to hit the board. Ponche’s Solo (7) is well suited for this race to hit the board.

5-6-1-7

Finish: 1-6-8-2

Win: 19.60

Exacta: 89.00

6th Race at Saratoga

5 furlong dirt, $45,000 maiden, for fillies two years old (state)

Extra Impact (4) had a fair show in her debut. Mama Theresa (8) is well bred and turned in some impressive works. Bee In A Bonnet (1) is well bred and ran a nice 5f workout. Ormsby’s Image (3) is fair to hit the board among these. If All About Allison (12ae) is eligible, play her.

4-8-1-3  (12AE-8-4-1)

Finish: 8-7-5-4

Win: 6.30

7th Race at Saratoga

1 mile Inner Turf, $50,000 allowance, for three year olds and upward (state)

Santos has let Dave (1) run before and should let him go straight for the wire today. Griffindor (8) and Mikethemoondog (2) will mount late attacks. Theconfidenceman (7) could reap the benefits of an awkward pace. Our wildcard, Calculator (4) after a month off could have enough in the tank to hit the board.

1-8-2-7 wildcard (4)

Finish: 1-5-8-3

Win: 9.50

8th Race at Saratoga

1 1/8 mile, $52,000 OC, for fillies and mares three year old and upward (state), more

With the early pressure we’ll expect Family Business (1) late speed to tip the scale. Taygete (2), good after a layoff, should have enough left to hit the board. Strategy (4) is dangerous with JRV in the irons. Private Gift (3) can hit the board easily should another fail.

1-2-4-3  ***NOTE 1 scratched***

Finish: 2-3-4-1A

Win: 10.80

Exacta: 45.00

No trifecta wagering

9th Race at Saratoga

1 mile Inner Turf, $46,000 maiden, for fillies and mares three years old and upward

Tropical Snow (1A) seems ready returning to the turf after a long layoff. Spring Deelite (5) ran to a good place finish last time out. Mrs Bailey (3) should show early speed and could hang on. The chalky Jenny Joy (6) and The Queen’s Stamp (7) are dangerous.  Pesquera (1) is a strong coupled entry.

1A-5-3-6

Finish: 1A-5-6-3

Win: 33.20

Double: 137.00

Exacta: 215.00

Trifecta: 653.00

Superfecta: 4,228.00

Pick3: 478.50

Pick4: 1,875.00

Pick6: 51,828.00
